Snowshoeing in Crater Lake National Park

Crater Lake National Park in southern Oregon is a stunning snowy winter wonderland.

I went snowshoeing for the first time in the snowiest inhabited area in America. Crater Lake National Park receives about 410 inches of snow per year! We snowshoed the Raven Trail which lead us a mile uphill to the rim of Crater Lake. The snow gently fell as we stood on the rim and looked out over the cleanest and clearest lake in the world. I was surprised how small Wizard Island looked in the middle of the massive 1943 ft. deep lake.

Crater Lake is the deepest lake in America.
